Its musicians, among them The Dead C, Alastair Galbraith, Peter Jefferies and Gate, recorded cheaply on cassette and four-track and pushed the local guitar-pop lineage toward improvised noise, drones and feedback, reaching listeners abroad through Flying Nun and the US label Siltbreeze.",
