The singers accompany it on moraches, notched sticks rasped with a bone or smaller stick over a resonator to make a growling sound associated with the bear. Frances Densmore published Northern Ute bear dance songs from her cylinder recordings in Northern Ute Music (BAE Bulletin 75, 1922).
