  "lineage": "Ensemble music of Kalasin province in Isan, northeastern Thailand, built around the pong lang, a xylophone of hardwood logs strung together and hung at an angle from a post, played by two players. It was developed into a stage band in the later twentieth century, notably by Plueang Chairatsami, and became the emblem of Kalasin and a staple of school ensembles. The band adds khaen, phin, the wot circular panpipe, drums and cymbals. The ranat ek card stands in for the pong lang.",
