  "lineage": "Improvised singing in ottava rima, the eight-line hendecasyllabic stanza of Italian narrative poetry, is the art of the poeti a braccio of the Maremma and other rural parts of Tuscany, upper Lazio and the Sabina, who sing extempore stanzas to traditional melodic formulas, often in a contrasto in which two poets argue opposing characters or themes and each stanza picks up the closing rhyme of the opponent's. It has been recorded for the ethnomusicology archive of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia since that archive's early years and later by the Istituto Ernesto de Martino, and continues at festivals and contests.",
