  "lineage": "Onda nueva is the style that the Caracas composer, pianist and arranger Aldemaro Romero launched around 1970, resetting the 3/4 joropo in a soft, jazz-harmonised idiom for piano, bass, drum kit and cuatro with sung melodies. Its drum-kit adaptation of the joropo's accents was worked out with the drummer Frank 'Pavo' Hernández, and Romero promoted the style through his Onda Nueva LPs and the Festival de la Onda Nueva in the early 1970s.",
