The best-known chanter, María Sabina, was recorded by R. Gordon Wasson and Valentina Pavlovna Wasson in 1956, and the tape was issued by Folkways in 1957. The chant repeats formulaic lines naming the curer and sacred beings, broken by clapping, humming and whistling.",
