  "name": "Change ringing (English full-circle church bell ringing)",
  "family": "global",
  "lineage": "The ringing of a ring of tuned church bells, commonly six, eight, ten or twelve, hung to swing through a full circle, each bell rung by one ringer pulling a rope, so that the bells strike in constantly changing orders by mathematical methods rather than playing tunes. It developed in seventeenth-century England: the Ancient Society of College Youths was founded in London in 1637, and Tintinnalogia (1668) and Fabian Stedman's Campanalogia (1677) set out the first methods. A full peal of some 5,000 changes lasts around three hours. The carillon card stands in for the tower ring of bells.",
