Each flute sounds a single harsh, beating tone (sonido rajado), the rows answer each other over a drum, and between dances the alférez sings improvised verses of praise. UNESCO inscribed the bailes chinos on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity; a generic flute card stands in for the chino flute.",
